Ahh...Spa Day

Today I had a day of rest and relaxation with my mother-in-law, Cathy. Last Fall Break in lieu of going on a trip my darling husband surprised me with a day at a spa in Greenfield. I truly enjoyed it and knew that Cathy would love such a treat. We decided that we would give her a gift certificate as a Christmas gift. We finally got around to scheduling her day for her today, and Jacob decided I needed a day of pampering too (yes I know he's the best!) so I should go along with her. Obviously I didn't argue for a second, and so this morning we started our day of fun at Ye Ole Head Shoppe and Spa in Greenfield.

We each got a 60 minute deep tissue massage. Since I never had professional massage before I was wondering what this would be like. Loved it. If you've never had one before you should try it. I was relaxed and ready for a nap by the end, and the 60 minutes flew by. The massage therapist even found that I had a vertebrae out of place and put it back in without all the cracking of a chiropractor. I also learned that the deep tissue type of massage is not only relaxing but is also good for the inside of your body too. It helps to clean out all of the toxins in your muscles. Who knew!

Next up was a facial. The aesthetician put a couple masks on my face, put the steam on, and even cleaned out some of my clogged pores. I don't think my face has ever been so smooth or bright!

Last was the pedicure and spa lunch. I choose a ham and cheese sandwich, potato salad and bottled water from the "spa menu". The food was better that I thought it would be. The bread on the sandwich tasted like it had been baked with garlic and herbs. Yum-o. I ate my lunch while getting my tootsies done. I think the pedicure was my favorite part of the whole process, I love putting my feet in the jetted foot bath, the exfoliating, the parafin wax, my red polish, I even love when they smooth out the bottoms of your feet!

My New Red Tootsies

After the wonderful spa day came to an end we met Jacob's Dad and Grandma for dinner in Greenfield and headed home. If only I could stay so soft and relaxed all the time!

What a wonderful husband you have! You should convince him that this is something you "need" often.

I love the red polished tootsies, but I think the polish job I did for your wedding was better :)
