Meet My New Sister-in-Law!

I have been so busy with school and classes this week I realized I never got around to posting my attempt at photography from Ben and Ashley's wedding last weekend. Shame on me! Well here they are, they are not fabulous, but hopefully I'll get to some better ones when they get the photographer's back.

The wedding was at Simmon's Winery. They were terrified it would rain, but luckily the rain and wind held off and they had a beautiful day! Ben and Ashley are not your typical bride and groom they wanted their ceremony to be a little different and a little casual, and it turned out really well-totally them.

Jacob escorted Jessica into the garden.

The colors for the wedding were an aqua blue and chocolate brown, as you can see by the guys' attire. Sorry about the iron stand in the picture! I was not sitting in a very picture-worthy spot!

Ben wrote and performed a song for Ashley called "It's You". It was very sweet!

Jacob giving his best man toast.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Shively. The best shot I had. I am defintely not a photographer!

In other news, last night we went to Jacob's aunt's for a surprise birthday party for his grandma. She's a spry 84! We had a really good time, roasted hot dogs, played cornhole, and got to visit. Well I guess it's back to homework for me!

I'm Still Here...

Sorry about the lack of posts lately. I have been a real blogger slacker. Not too much exciting has been going on around here. Labor day weekend we had fun visiting with Doug, Rajean, and Dallas at the Robertson's cookout. We really enjoyed having an extra day to sleep in! Life at school has been as normal as can be. Last Saturday we started out the day meeting up with my sister and her sort-of new boyfriend Travis. He is in the Army and home to visit before he gets deployed to Iraq in a few weeks. He seems like a really nice guy, hopefully he will stay safe as he protects our country! Later that afternoon we drove to Cincinnati to watch the Reds play the Cubs (Jacob's favorite team). It was a game filled with home runs (I think there were at least 7), we got home early Sunday morning and packed all of our weekend chores in on Sunday. The beginning of this week as been pretty quiet, but the end should be much more lively. Tomorrow afternoon I have an appointment to get my haircut (can't wait for the hair wash) then we are going to Waldron to watch the Shelbyville volleyball team take on the Mohawks. Ben and Ashley's wedding is also this weekend, so Friday we have the rehearsal and dinner, and Saturday the ceremony. Hopefully I'll have some pictures to share afterwards!
