The End is Near

Ah, the last few days of school are finally upon us. A seemingly happy time, with children leisurely playing outside, the sun shining, and birds chirping in the distance. Then reality sets in for a teacher.

At the end of every school year I am snapped back into reality about how unbelievably busy and choatic life gets. Common sense tells me, "Oh we're in the homestrech now, it should be smooth sailing." But no. It seems like every day this week, I've been slapped in the face with "Wake up Kristen, you need to do this, and this, and this, and oh yeah, do you have this done yet?" Seriously, between awards, referrals, reports, testing, field trips, weddings, bridal showers, baseball games, packing up my classroom, class rosters for next year, and last but not least actually doing lesson plans and teaching my class all day my poor brain is going in a million directions. It seems like the to-do list is never ending. I don't even have any of my own children yet!

But enough venting for today. Tomorrow will be a new day and I'll (hopefully) mark a few more things off of my to-do list.
