Our Spring Break Road Trip: Day 2

Walking, walking, and more walking! That is how I would describe day two of our adventure.

We started this morning on a tour of The Hermitage. This was President Andrew Jackson's mansion and estate on the outskirts of Nashville. We were definitely on the educational tour and got to wear these super-cool headphones to wear to listen and learn about the President and his home.

We decided to take advantage of the great weather today and continue our outdoor tour. We hopped in the car and headed to the Nashville Zoo. It was a good time, we were some of the few people there without a stroller, but it was fun to compare the zoo to others we had been to. The Indianapolis Zoo is still tops for us!

One of the high flying gibbons at the zoo. He was mooning everyone, but our photographer wasn't quick enough on the shutter for that one. What a shame!

The walking tour ended in downtown Nashville. We saw "Music Row", the view from the state capital, and then the Parthenon (the only exact sized replica of the original Greek structure in the world) and went out for dinner.

No we're not in Athens, believe it or not this is in Tennessee!
Only a few more stops tomorrow, then it is back home to the APT for some rest and relaxation. Until then...

I can not believe you picked Nashville over ROYAL! I know this darling little bed and breakfast that would have given you FREE room and board! :) tsk tsk!!

As far as the Parthenon goes... that one is WAY nicer than the real one!! :) I mean, it has four walls AND a roof! :)

Looks like a great day to be out and about...and you saw some very cool things. How was Music Row? I'm sure that was your favorite part of the day...since you are such a huge country fan! Did you see any big name singers? Can't wait to hear about your last day of adventures!

Sorry gals, we did't come to your neck of the woods for break. We did seriously consider them, and I promise we will make it west soon!

Rajean, as for Music Row, is was less musicy (is that a word?) than I expected, and much more touristy. But if you want to buy a cowboy hat or boots, that is where to go! As for country music singers, we didn't see any (at least I don't think so, I'm not sure I would know one if they walked right it front of me! You know how knowledgable I am when it comes to country music!)
