Success! (for now)

We survived our first day back to school, and more importantly Owen's first day at the babysitters! We were really nervous for Owen's first day at the sitters, but he loved it! He loves watching the other kids. Hallelujah! After we went to a friend's house (who have kids) on Friday night and he cried and screamed the entire time, combined with his recent bout of stranger anxiety we were truly frightened about how Monday would turn out. I had braced myself for months of adjustment, or a call from Carol the babysitter wanting me to come pick him up and never come back! When Jacob called to check on him at lunch he could hear his little laugh and squeal in the background and when I went to pick him up he was all smiles. She has been impressed at how content he's been. He even slept through the night! Thank goodness! Now let's just pray the success continues!

I drove by your house today and wondered how you were getting along. I'm glad that things went well, and I hope they continue to go well.

I'm glad he's doing so well! That separation anxiety is a nightmare, but I've always had the opinion that it's better for them to go through it when they're little rather than when they're starting school.
