Bad Blogger

I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. That's all I can say for my recent blogging behavior. Life around here has been hectic lately, and blogging has been low on my priority list. I have been checking up on everyone else's blogs, but adding to mine just hasn't happened. I know you have all been on pins and needles to hear of the latest happenings...just kidding!

Christmas Break was pretty uneventful around here. We enjoyed getting a little time off from school and homework. We enjoyed visiting with family and friends. I celebrated my 27th birthday (Man, I'm getting old!). We basically just bummed around.

January got off to a bang with school back in session and temperatures dipping below zero here. We enjoyed a two hour delay and a day off of school a week or so ago because of the dangerous temps. Both of our master's classes are back into full swing. I am taking two this semester, one on teaching reading in the elementary, and the other on designing lessons and curriculum for gifted and talented students. It has already been a ton of work the past two weeks. I just hope I survive this semester, and then I'll be halfway done!

The kiddos at school have been more rambunctious that usual. Probably because the cold temps have kept them playing inside as long as I can remember. Hopefully our routine will get a little more stable in the weeks to come.

The past week has been a blur. Thursday Jacob's grandmother passed away. She was a wonderful woman who was loved by a lot of people and will be missed by many. We have been traveling back and forth to her home in Greenfield for her visitation yesterday and funeral today and to visit family on Thursday. Somehow we also fit in a manicure for my mom and I on Saturday (Jacob got us gift certificates for Christmas and we had made the appointment a few weeks ago. It was nice to think about something else for awhile) and had extra trips to our respective schools to get sub plans ready so we could go to the funeral today. I have been trying to fit my masters homework and reading in between trips to the funeral home and school, and finally think I have a handle on everything that is due tomorrow.

Tonight and tomorrow we are supposed to get 6-8 inches of snow, so we'll see how that affects our schedule. I'm hoping for a two hour delay as usual, but I actually wouldn't mind a snow day or two to recover from everything that's been going on.

Hopefully I won't be so long in my next post!

I'm sorry for the loss of Jacob's grandma. We will remember you all in our prayers as you go through this.

Best of luck with the snow. We have had our fare share of it...
